About
Kenneth “Spider Webb” Rice began playing drums at an early age in his home town of Detroit, MI.
In his teens, he recorded with United Artist and Holland-Dozier-Holland.
In 1967, in New York, his career as a studio drummer reached luster and he was engaged by King Curtis and the Kingpins.
Later on, he became the drummer for Harry Belafonte, recording two albums: “Calypso Carnival” and “Live in Toronto”.
In 1971 Spider moved to Los Angeles to work with famed jazz guitarist Gabor Szabo.
In 1979, in Boulder, CO, he began to write and arrange music and to produce numerous albums.
Spider showed his expertise on live shows as well as record productions, working with most of Detroit’s finest musicians and singers, ranging from jazz and R&B to reggae.
